When New Zealand's first Alert Level Four lockdown was announced, food and fibre sector training providers were presented with a major challenge: how should they deliver education and training programmes in the middle of a pandemic?

A research project, Technology-enabled Learning – Lessons from Lockdown, funded by Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and undertaken by Scarlatti, identified three broad areas which held the most learnings:

Tech-enabled learning methods - The platforms and delivery modes were used by different organisations to deliver training.

The challenges - The key aspects of tech-enabled learning that learners and tutors struggled with most.

The successes - Things that worked well for tutors and learners.
